Press/ Media

Let's consider, perhaps, a typical Friday:
You trundle from the bedroom to the bath, grab a slice of toast on the way out and finally get to work. You meet a colleague for lunch and head back to an afternoon meeting with some clients. After work, you're off to the gym for a good workout, reward yourself with a touch-up at the hairdresser's and then meet a few friends for a bite to eat.  A few of you decide to take in an event at the theatre/ cinema/ gallery/ university/ church/ community hall...

The point is, there is potential for art everywhere, whether you are staging your home for sale, spicing up your salon or boutique or setting the tone for a trendy club.

If you are interested in hosting a show, get in touch with Go Figure!

We can help you decide how many pieces you need, what colors and sizes suit your venue and even help coordinate an opening night party. If you want something really out of the ordinary, ask us to create pieces especially for your venue!

Some of the artists in the group also accept commissions, so please enquire. Instead of getting your art off the shelf... Go Figure!

NOV 19-21 “Go Figure! group’s latest show : With the Naked Eye”
OPENING FRIDAY NOV 19TH 7PM-12 (SHOW RUNS SAT & SUN 11PM-4PM)
Great things happen in Canada’s winter!  Five female artists met under the tutelage of Mark Vazquez-Mackay during Extended Studies classes at ACAD. Mark felt that there was opportunity to enrich culture in Calgary with the women’s passion for creating - what is essentially - a renaissance in nude art.
'Go Figure!' was formed in spring 2010 and by May they had their first show. The positive response was overwhelming. Their work conveys the unique humour, beauty, chaos and precision within the human form.
The artists are: Karen Alderson, who has an impressionistic style and favours ink as a medium; Teresa Coulter and Rita Reddy who share a classical approach and prefer oil and acrylic; Sabrina Larson is originally a landscape painter and uses watercolour and Anna Garleff works primarily in charcoal and pastel. There is something for everyone and the artists are happy to accept commissions.
This exhibit will be opening on Friday night, with beats provided by Nate Spektacle. You can view the BlogSpot at  http://gofiguregroup.blogspot.com and leave a comment for your favourite piece! For more information about the group and workshop, call Anna at (403) 991 3793 and for details about the show and membership, call ART SPOT at: (403) 450 0995.
